Beginners Guide Step #1- Selecting A Profitable Affiliate Marketing Niche
When starting this step it is essential that you pick a niche that you have decent knowledge of and that is interesting to you.
Choosing a niche that you have knowledge of and that you are interested in will make coming up with and writing your content much easier for you.
The goal in any marketing niche is to become an expert in the field so people will trust your recommendations.
If people trust your opinion you will have a much better sales conversion rate.
All and all the ultimate goal for any marketer is to find a cash cow of a niche.
Step #2- Choosing A Domain Name
Choosing and purchasing a domain name is the second step in our getting started process.
When choosing your domain name it is best to make it relevant to the niche you have chosen.
A good practice for ensuring that your new website gets a bit of a SERP’s ranking boost is to include the keyword or a variation of the keyword that your niche is based around directly in the domain name.
This is called an EMD (Exact Match Domain).
So lets say the niche you have chosen is kids crafts than when you choose your domain name you want to use at least one of the keywords “kids”or “crafts” in the Domain name.
However, studies show, it would be best for SEO purposes if you can use both keywords in your new domain name.
A good note to add here is that you should always triple check the spelling of your domain name to make sure that it is spelled correctly before you make your name official.
Step #3- Building Your Own Affiliate Website
OK, now that you have the domain name you are going to want to build an affiliate website around that domain name in the affiliate niche that you have chosen.
When creating a website it is incredibly important to make your site as user friendly as possible, ensure your visitors can navigate your site easily and brand it in such a way that it sticks out in the mind of anyone who pay it a visit.
If your brand stands out than folks are far more likely to come back the next time they are shopping around for products in your niche.
Which will also lead to visitors mentioning you on social media more often and that in turn will lead to more free traffic.
A few of the easier ways to help your brand stand out is by creating your own unique logo, site color schemes, and images/videos (visuals) that are only found on your site.
And that are semi relevant to the affiliate marketing niche you are getting started in.
There are a wide assortment of plugins you can choose from that will help make this step much easier on you and make your site a more pleasant experience for your visitors.
Basically just remember that the affiliate website you are creating is not for you to look at but instead a tool for your users to find what it is they need to make their life better.
So, as an Affiliate Marketing newbie just starting out, do your best to always keep your target audience (visitors) in mind and all these other steps will come fairly easy.
Affiliate Beginners Guide Step #4- Creating Quality Content
Step #4 of this Affiliate Marketing Guide is about creating quality content relevant to your niche and niche audience.
Content creation is something that takes a lot of research and should be done on a regular basis by finding keywords that are not only relevant to your niche but also are phrases that your target audience are searching for the most.
This way you keep up with your audience and up to date with a constantly evolving niche.
When getting started creating content it’s a good idea to research what the top competing sites are doing to rank highly or keep their audience engaged.
After you have a good feel for what the big dogs are doing then do the same to a certain degree but with your own unique spin on it.
Of course you’re also going to want to ensure that you are not coping any of their content to your site.
It’s one thing to get an idea from them but it is a complete other to copy exactly word for word what they are doing.
Doing this will result in your website getting penalized and not getting ranked in search engines.
That and it’s just flat out wrong to do.
When creating content the most important thing to remember is that people are visiting your site in hopes that you can help them solve a particular problem.
So write your articles for them (Do Not Write A Sales Pitch).
Yes, I know I said it twice but it is important enough that it should be mentioned twice!
The more knowledge you can accurately provide your audience the more likely they will trust your recommendations.
So it would behoove you to make sure you do your homework on whatever it is you are sharing with them because if you earn the trust of the people (Target Audience) than they’ll be more inclined to make you their last stop before buying.
AKA, the end of your sales funnel.
After all that is what affiliate marketing is all about… Commissions!
All the more reason for picking the best online training courses when learning about how to create quality content for your affiliate marketing business.

Step #5- Signing Up For Affiliate Marketing Programs & Using Affiliate Links
In this step we’ll be signing up for affiliate marketing programs that will compliment the actions you took in steps 3 and 4 of this affiliate marketing beginners guide.
Then after we have our programs we can get to the good stuff and use our new affiliate link/s to start making money via affiliate marketing style.
Or so we hope!
There is a lot of trial and error that goes along with learning how to start affiliate marketing as a beginner on your own.
Sorry about getting blown off course there but I don’t want you thinking this is going to be some kind of plug and play process that will come easy to everyone.
First things first, you need to pick an affiliate program that will be a good fit for your website and that is relevant to your niche.
After you’ve found a program, that best suits you, you’re going to need to provide them with a little bit of information by filling out an affiliate request form.
So you’re not surprised by it, they will be asking for info that is normally asked of by employers or financial institutions. (ie your bank)
The approval process usually takes 24-48 hours but note that there are some that will accept you instantly upon filling out the request form.
After you have been accepted you will need to get your affiliate link.
If you have joined a program that offers multiple products, like Clickbank, you will get a different link generated for each product.
Just be sure that each product or program you’re going to leverage on your website is relevant to both your site and niche.
Before we get to learning how to insert our new link, into our quality content, we need to make sure that the link we’ve just gotten works.
Easiest way of doing this is by copying and pasting your link into an incognito browser tab and hitting enter.
If your link should take you to the affiliate product page and somewhere on either that page or the checkout page you should see your affiliate id and/or your affiliate credentials.
If so than you’re good to go.
Now that we know our link works it’s time to plug it into relevant places within your pages or posts.
Just be sure you don’t go overboard and get to link happy because this can and most likely will end up with that piece of content not being indexed or it loosing some of the ranking it had built up in search engines.
Step #6- Generating And Driving Traffic
You’re now to the part of this Affiliate Marketing Beginners Guide where you can begin making money with affiliate marketing.
If you only had people stopping by and paying attention to your site, that is!
Good News, that is what this step is all about…
Generating and driving traffic!
Lets find out how you can get some clicks thrown your way so you can stat making money off of your shiny new affiliate link.
To do this you need to promote your site through a variety of different other channels until you start getting some traffic from Google and other search engines.
- One way to do this is by sharing your website socially such as with Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or Pinterest.
- Another way to promote your site by writing and posting articles in article directories like Street Articles or Yahoo answers and leaving a link to your site in the box labeled resources.
- Finding forums that are related to your niche and leaving helpful comments to people’s questions with a link to your site or affiliate link. The more you can help folks the more your name gets out and the more likely they will find your money links.
- You could also use PPC marketing and buy your traffic from sites like Fiverr but this way can easy cost you a small fortune and could end up delivering empty traffic (traffic with no results) to your site.
- The most common and effective method is by posting videos (usually YouTube) of detailed results or reviews of the product that you are promoting. The videos you make also have the possibility of ranking highly in the search engines and pulling down loads of free search traffic.
